ABOUT AMY

Amy Rubinate is an award-winning audiobook narrator, director and producer, as well as an accomplished singer and writer. She received her MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Hamline University in 2021.

Amy grew up at the edge of a national forest in Northern California, and spent her childhood tromping through the woods with her best friend and her golden retriever, looking for fairies and making friends with trees.

Amy started her career as a singer, performing one-woman shows from the Great American Songbook in classic San Francisco and New York nightclubs, and received a cabaret fellowship from the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. Amy did voiceover work for commercials, animation, video games and talking toys, and narrated over 300 audiobooks.

After founding audiobook publishing company Ideal Audiobooks, Amy bought Mosaic Audio and built it into one of the largest audiobook production companies in the industry with studios across Los Angeles. Mosaic Audio has produced over 2,000 titles for major publishers and has won many AudioFile Earphones Awards and Audie Awards.

Amy directed many acclaimed children's audiobooks such as Rebound, Loving vs. Virginia, Love Sugar Magic, All Four Stars, and Ada Twist, Scientist. She is a sought-after director for author and celebrity audiobooks and directed such luminaries as Kristen Stewart, Jillian Michaels, Larry David, Nathan Fillion, Megan Follows, Naya Rivera, Melissa Benoist, Felicia Day, and the cast of Happy Days in Marion Ross’s memoir.
